POLICE: BRENHAM MIDDLE SCHOOL PUPILS CHARGED AFTER BISD EMPLOYEE ASSAULT

A student at Brenham Middle School is facing felony assault charges after Brenham Police say he attacked a Brenham ISD employee.

According to a report by Brenham Police Chief Ron Parker, school resource officers responded at 11:15 a.m. Wednesday after campus administrators reported an alleged assault on the employee.

Police said the 12-year-old student was unruly in class and teachers tried to control him using verbal techniques. Campus administrators were called to help, and the student ran out of the classroom and attempted to walk out into a hallway.

Police report says school employees tried to stop him from leaving when he physically attacked and assaulted a campus administrator by punching her twice, tearing her clothes and causing her physical pain following the attack. He was eventually taken under control and the police were summoned.

The student was taken into custody after statements and an investigation. He was rushed on juvenile probation and two counts of assaulting a public official, a third-degree felony, were filed.
