Emily Jennings, a pupil in the yellow secondary class at St Brigid’s School, got the surprise of her life when her idol Pasquale La Rocca from Dancing with the Stars arrived at her classroom door to surprise her.
Emily couldn’t believe her eyes and was frozen in place in shock!
It was extremely endearing to see the reaction on Emily’s face and the excitement among the rest of her classmates to meet the dancer Emily has been talking about for weeks, said school principal Joanne Jordan.
Emily attends a dance class at Delvin every week with her teacher Nessa O’Reilly Lynch. Nessa was the founder of the Chance to Shine Project, a creative program for young adults with disabilities.
Emily also attends a block of dance lessons with Pasquale at Nessa’s studio.
The day after her lessons, back at school, Emily always gives advice and demonstrates her new steps and techniques for the other students and sometimes for Mrs. Jordan in the schoolyard.
Pasquale spent time chatting with Emily’s friends and her class staff before performing a dance demonstration with Emily in the class.
A tearful Emily hugged Mrs Jordan after the visit and said it was the best day of her life!
Pasquale took plenty of time to showcase his dance moves and even had time for group photos and a farewell dance in the school parking lot.
It left the group of young adults buzzing and full of laughter and their own future Dancing with the Stars contestant paving the way back to class.
St Brigid’s wishes Pasquale all the best with Dancing with the Stars and especially thanks Nessa for all the support she gives to many students to express themselves through the creative arts.
